GEC Testimonials
Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) Administrative Building (2007)
"It is important as the Owner on a project to work with professionals
I can respect and count on to keep my best interests at hand. That
includes being sensitive to budgets, timelines and risk management.
I have noticed that the experience, skills and technical resources
of geotechnical firms are never identical. I value GEC as a team
member that OUC can rely on for their problem-solving expertise."

Vice President of Consumer Connection, Orlando Utilities Commission

The Plaza (2007)
"GEC was selected as a member of our project team for the
Plaza because of their in depth local knowledge of the downtown
project site and the surrounding areas as well as their reputation
and expertise in both the geotechnical and environmental fields.
As the largest single redevelopment project ever in the City's central
core, we assembled the A-team: GEC was at the top of our list!"

University of Central Florida (UCF) Convocation Center (2007)
"As the local representative for the private development company
of the new UCF Convocation Center project, we were breaking new
ground, so to speak. This exciting project included partnering with
UCF to develop the new Convocation Center, the addition of a new
10,000 seat Arena, retail and campus housing and the renovation
of the old UCF Arena. As the Developer providing this facility to
the University of Central Florida, we faced front and center the
importance of meeting cost and schedule estimates without overrun
or delay. Having Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants, Inc.(GEC)
serve as our geotechnical engineer for the project was a good choice.
They worked well with our design team, led by HOK, and ensured that
we worked together to achieved cost efficient foundations."

I-4 Downtown Bridges (2007)
"The design of the Interstate 4 Ultimate Bridges in Downtown
Orlando was a complex and challenging assignment for the URS team.
The presence of contamination and the urban environment required
unique geotechnical analysis and foundation design solutions. Our
Geotechnical Engineer, GEC, excelled in addressing the issues of
contamination, noise and vibrations in their evaluation of foundation
alternatives. They went the extra mile by designing and implementing
a pilot test to model the impact of pile installation on underground
contamination. I can wholeheartedly recommend GEC to handle complex
geotechnical issues in a thoughtful and highly responsive manner."

Orlando International Airport, Airside 2 Terminal (2000)
"I was HOK's Aviation Co-Leader and Principal in Charge when
we designed the Orlando International Airport's Airside 2, which
at the time was the signature terminal for Delta Air Lines. Since
we intended to employ concentrated loads for the long span envisioned,
we needed to ensure we had the right Orlando geotechnical engineering
firm on board. We wanted a firm that we knew would not just provide
us with easy answers, but would work with us to ensure we had the
most cost effective and appropriate foundation system to support
this large, high profile benchmark structure. We knew from having
worked with GEC over many years that we could count on them to meet
our schedule and be a valued team member. I highly recommend GEC
for your project."

Central Florida Commuter Rail Transit
We have always appreciated the detailed investigations,
quick turnaround, and quality reports provided by GEC. We are
currently working with GEC on the Central Florida Commuter Rail
Transit (CFCRT) project, which is upgrading 61 miles of CSXT rail
A-line from DeLand to Poinciana Industrial Park for CFCRT commuter
services. GEC has routinely provide information to Earth Tech
in a timely manner and has effectively adapted to the many changes
this project has experienced. I have found their staff to be professional,
diligent, and flexible in accomplishing their duties.

Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA); John Land
Apopka Expressway
GEC served as an environmental consultant to DRMP on behalf
of our client, the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA),
for environmental assessment of multiple parcels and holdings associated
with the planned design and construction of the John Land Apopka
Expressway project. GECs scope of services included Phase
I and Phase II environmental assessments to verify the presence
of soil and/or groundwater contamination onsite that could result
in project implications associated with construction. GEC performed
in a responsive and professional manner meeting budget and deadline.

Orlando International Airport Airsides One and Three Expansion
Our firm has worked with GEC on numerous, diverse projects
in Central Florida for more than ten years. We have always appreciated
their detailed reports, consistently quick turnaround, and willingness
to resolve issues and overcome challenges. Most recently, GEC was
on our team for the Orlando International Airport Airsides One and
Three Expansion project. GEC employed ground penetrating radar (GPR)
to expedite issues related to buried utilities, a critical step
in identifying and helping the Design Team formulate successful
design solutions for utility vaults.
